We are also supporting Father Lucchetta (an Italian priest who has been in Rwanda for 30 years) with his Community project for street kids.

The idea is to build a community, run by three formators (foster parent types) who will take care of the street kids providing them with a bed, a hot meal, medical assistance and someone who talk to.

In fact, often those kids run away from home because of the lack of affection, the loss of one or both parents or because the family is too poor to support.

For this reason, the project focuses on the importance of creating relationships. The final step will be to reintegrate the children back in society and, if possible, the family.

UMUDUFU is trying to collect 3,000 €uros in order to support this important project and to guarantee the integration of 10 children (and the local formator) back into community (The formator receives no salary. He/She does it out of conviction!).

You can help us in supporting this project with 25 €uros every month.

In Rwanda access to health care is very expensive. Insurance exists in the form of “La Mutuelle”, but for a lot of people it is too expensive.

In Kabgayi Hospital, Doctor Jean Bosco Ndacyalhio pays the insurance as well as the medical expenses of several people out of his own pocket because they are not able to pay. So we decided to support him by giving him a sum of money each month.

The cost of project is 910 €uros per month.

The purpose of this project is to permit poor people to have access to health services. In the hospital there is a social service bureau which works with this aim in mind. The person in charge of this project is Etienne Rukundo.

Our contribution is used both for medical expenses and to support families defray the cost of the Mutuelle Insurance.

Mutuelle Insurance costs 5000 RWF (= 7 euros) per family per year.

We have set up a Commission to run this project: Doctor Jean Bosco, Etienne Rujundo and Abbé Vincent (the hospital manager).
